The Wildlife Science Center is an independent non-profit organization located 30 minutes north of the Twin Cities. WSC was established as a non-profit organization in 1991 after a 15-year history as a federally-funded wolf research center, the "Wolf Project." When the federal funds ended, some of the existing staff chose to assume financial responsibility for the 30+ wolves living here at the time.

Staff increased in number, and the diversity of the animal collection expanded to include black bears, raptors, bobcats, gray fox, red wolves, and Mexican gray wolves. After significant capital improvements, WSC opened its doors to the public for educational programs in 1994. Since then, WSC has seen its annual audience grow from several hundred to over 25,000.

All Minnesota homegrown boys, the Big Strong Men came together in the fall of 2009 with one common goal: tried and true rock n’ roll. Their two songwriters and singers, Ben Greenwald on guitar and Christopher Williams on keys, have been writing and playing music together since the age of thirteen, and the cohesiveness of the band stems from that longstanding musical understanding. They are joined by the soulful Joe Silberschmidt on drums and the discerning and potent Jonathan Camp on bass. When asked to describe their music, the Big Strong Men like to say they’re a blend of alt country with 60’s pop sensibility and 80’s pop bombast. They call it man rock, the sonic equivalent of winning the presidential physical fitness award. As a new band, the Big Strong Men's high-energy shows and musicality are a refreshing addition to the dynamic Twin Cities music scene.
